Training on Food, Nutrition, Diets, Eating and Your Body's Relationship With Food

Look at that :)
It looks good and it's not even real. Right?
Which makes me wanna do this:

Look at that ;D

Gahdamn

Look at that :)
If you were on a fast and you were coming for more help, I don't think I'm sorry.
As you've been feasting your eyes on all the above options of delicioso food, you probably had an uncertain battle inside you on whether what you're seeing is healthy or not. And this has happened despite me not putting a single photo of pastries like cakes and doughnuts or sweets.
That shows you just how possibly distorted our perception of what is healthy and what is not could be.
Given the fact that we've been cultured, moreso by social media and our personal online searches across websites, to think and perceive nearly everything as unhealthy and dangerous, it is clear that our relationship with food is bad.
This is why when you try to be strict and "disciplined" with a diet that is agreed upon by the "fitness community", your face during your meals usually looks something like this:
And these ones above too.
And...just one more:

Chances are if you landed here on this page, you’re looking to join me in an interesting, informative, educative and insightful learning experience on nothing else but food!
That's right, food.
I’m always looking for Amazing People to go on a teaching and learning adventure with.
I don't know about you but given the fact that food:
-
Definitely has a big impact on how we feel, think and our mood (which I believe means it has an impact on our soul)
-
Is literally what makes our bodies
-
Is what keeps us alive
-
Can make or break our health
And ignoring the fact that "you are what you eat" and that every internal organ, save for the lungs and heart, is directly or at least in some way, entirely dedicated to the digestion of said food, given those facts (among many more), I see no problem in food making you go like:

And if your dieting efforts look something like this:

...maybe you're not the problem, because, why is (like) everyone like this?
Maybe it's not something to be fought but to be understood and worked with?
Maybe.
And I'm not saying any of the above are unhealthy (maybe the doughnuts..."maybe"), neither am I saying they are healthy.
Let's just say your relationship with food is complicated.
Approaching the topic of food:
-
It can be subjective in that it needs to take into account your state of health, lifestyle, food preferences, family setting, body type (metabolism and such-because, why is he still thin while eating the same foods that made me fat?), location and the food available, and:
-
It can also be objective in that the food you eat and the eating patterns you use for your weight loss, for example, should ideally be the same once the unwanted body fat is out of the way...otherwise, won't it all just come back?
All those dynamics are what we are going to cover to make you a more informed individual when it comes to the topic of food, allowing you to effortlessly apply the knowledge to create for yourself healthy eating habits that as a side effect will keep your weight and health in check.

Why are we like this?
And also like this:

Oops, wrong photo, I meant for:
Why are we also like this:

And why does this dynamic even exist?...

Turns out there are reasons.
You get the idea.
There's a lot you can ask (they always keep coming up) and a lot of things about food and diets that you constantly wonder about which has led you to do your own research which often leads to nothing more than more confusion and fear.
There's a lot about food to learn and if we're to think of this experience as anything, let it be that we are taking the time to learn more about food so that we can fix our attitude towards it and our relationship with it to help us in our weight management efforts which by extension will lead us to learning how to listen and work with our bodies.

For a group of 3 People - KSH24,000

Group of 10+ People - KSH80,000
Together We're Going to Explore the Following Topics
-
If you are overweight, we will talk about the role food played in your unique weight and fat gain experience and shine a light on the possibility of other factors other than food contributing to it.
-
If you are underweight and or skinny, we will talk about why you just can't seem to gain any weight no matter how much you eat of course following that up with what you have been doing wrong and what you can do instead.
-
Understanding eating disorders, what led to your specific eating disorder and even opening up your eyes to the possible reality that the reason you struggle with food is because of an eating disorder. Some people struggle to eat maybe because of low or "bad" appetite, while others are super skinny due to a previous obsession to losing weight, while others are overeating due to the same previous obsession to lose weight and stay fit etc. It goes on and on and the variations are unique to each person.
-
What eating patterns are best for you?
-
Does fasting really live up to its hype? And are the said benefits actually because of the fast itself or something else?
-
Understanding calories and their role in your weight gain/weight loss and the consequent weight maintenance. You've heard about calories and probably too about concepts such as "calories in, calories out" but have never fully understood what it's all about and how it applies to your unique situation and body type.
-
You can clearly see this will need us to educate you on what your body type means when it comes to your weight loss or weight gain struggle.
-
How bad is sugar really? The hate for sugar has gotten too malicious and has gotten even to a point where people are telling you fruits are dangerous because "fructose" (a type of sugar dominant in most fruits). How true are these claims, and is sugar really as bad as they say (for your health, your weight etc)?
-
Are carbs (carbohydrates) really the enemy of your weight loss and health?
-
Understanding the role of Carbohydrates, Proteins, Fats, Vegetables and Fruits in your diet.
-
"Eat your vegetables." Are vegetables as nutritious as we've been made to believe? I mean, when you think healthy food you think salads, but how true is this notion/idea?
-
How good are other nutrient sources such as nuts, seeds and supplements? You've probably already been sucked into the craze of adding chia seeds or the new trend, mostly by women, of using sea moss and collagen peptides, for example...how relevant or necessary are these alternative nutrient sources if at all?
-
Understanding what cravings are, what you should do about them and why you need to take them more seriously. This will introduce us to a wonderful topic:
-
Learning how to listen to what your body needs and how to work with it.
-
How practical or necessary are all these diet trends you keep hearing about: keto, plant-based, carnivore, detoxes, Intermittent Fasting etc?
-
How you can work with sugary and delicious "unhealthy" foods and still stay healthy.
-
Finally, we are going to handle other aspects and analogies of life that are relevant to helping you achieve and maintain your weight and health goals faster and better.
-
Bonus: I will use your questions where relevant to teach you any of the above concepts to allow the training to be carried out in a manner that you will understand and internalise. i.e. Your curiosity could guide how this information gets relayed to you so it is encouraged to be open and free; this is not a think-inside-the-box school but rather a put-to-practise class that teaches you things that are relevant to "vitu kwa ground".
Given all that, you can clearly see how the training will definitely involve other aspects outside just food such as your body, lifestyle and health (internal and external) because those aspects are as tied to food as you are to your phone.
As you can see, there's a lot of ground to cover so here's how we're going to do this for the best learning and teaching experience:
STEP 1 - Doing Full Consultation
.png)
As you've been reading through the topic we are going to cover together, and even while you were reading the prologue, you probably realised how there are a lot of personal aspects to your nutrition training that need to be taken into account for it to be effective and applicable to your unique life, body, state of health etc.
The best way for us to carry out that level of a personalised approach to your training is by making good use of my full consultation service as this allows us to get access to useful "subjective information".
Even for groups of up to 10, each individual will carry this out so that they each can get the full experience. Yes, I'm committed.
For groups above ten, five select individuals will be chosen by the group organisers, and the subjective experiences of these individuals will be used to teach the rest whose questions and mob-mentality synergy during the training will also work to the advantage of everyone. i.e. a wider pool of people allows for a more diverse training experience which ensures that almost everyone will be taken care of even if just a few people's subjective experiences are used.
After doing this step, we will start training.
STEP 2 - How We Will Carry Out the Training Sessions
Now that we will have gone through consultation, you will have an understanding of where you are already in terms of what your body needs to get to a healthy and attractive place and this will set you up for an insightful training experience. You will be smarter and more interested in learning the inner workings of your body in relation to food effectively making you a good student.
.png)
Training can take different forms as you can imagine. It will depend on the number of people, whether it will be a virtual or physical face-to-face experience and what resources will be present at desired physical locations (whiteboards, projector etc). All these details, you and I will agree upon, or I will with the respective group training organisers.
Even the nature of the training will adapt depending on the age of the people I'm training (some people have had their kids join us while others have involved their parents and grandparents), the type of group (is it a company that has hired me or a family or a women's group or simply a group of friends?) and the personal requests of my clients on how they would like to experience the training.
.png)
All in all, the training is meant to create an immersive experience and will involve articulate materials and visual representations some of which will be shared before certain sessions to get you up to speed and to give you something to visually walk along with me as we do the training.
Of course, I will expect everyone to have a notebook because every time you watch the same movie there's always something new that you will see that you didn't the last time and because your memory is as reliable as it is when you walk into a room and forget why you're there.
.png)
.png)
The training sessions usually take an average of 90 to 120 minutes and it will require you, on average, to commit to a total of four sessions minimum.
The sessions will be done at intervals (preferably not on consecutive days) and the time and days will be agreed upon.
This is because I will be giving you tasks and objectives to carry out outside the training environment and they could sometimes need ample time to be properly carried out which also depends on how busy someone will be post-training sessions.
Finally, once we are done and you have successfully absorbed the necessary information and have shown the ability to apply and adapt it, I will present you with a certificate for your effort and the self-love you will have shown by investing in something that will make your health and life that much better.
It won't get you a job or anything (or will it? I don't know) but when you're out with family and someone gets a stomach upset from eating beans, you will provide a solution that will allow them to enjoy beans without any of the stomach trouble and when they ask you, "Wow, how did you know that will work?" You will reminisce about these trainings and show them the certificate as you smile with a look of superiority and gratitude on your face.
.png)
Even if it's not going to be as dramatic as that, you get the point: you'll be seeing food differently, will possess a great understanding of the relationship between food and the body and will be doing a great job of taking care of your health and body without stressing or being pulled left and right by every new diet trend (you won't even need them), all of which will allow you to have longevity to experience life with the good health.
Okay, there you have it!
